Evening Grosbeak, Coccothraustes vespertinus
Evening Grosbeak, Coccothraustes vespertinus
With its large bill and unique yellow eyebrows, the male Evening Grosbeak is easily recognized. A member of the finch family of birds, the Evening Grosbeak uses its large bill to crack open and eat seeds. The female is somewhat blander in colour than the male, and lacks the yellow eyebrow, but has the same large pale bill.
