Yellow Beardtongue, Penstemon confertus
Also called Yellow Penstemon, Yellow Beardtongue is found in the montane and foothill regions of southeastern British Columbia and Alberta and south into Montana. It has numerous pale-yellow flowers that grow in clusters on a tall, thing stem. The flowers are trumpet shaped. The common name 'beardtongue' is a reference to the flower's hairy, sterile stamen which resembles a tongue.
