March Fly, Bibio sp.
March Flies are two-winged black or brown hairy flies with two clear or whitish wings.
There are over 700 species world-wide.
|
Female March Fly
March Flies are also characterized by their short antennae which point downward.
They get their common name from the fact that in the early springtime
(but not necessarily March) adults emerge and take part in a mating dance.
