Sphecid Wasp, Crabo latipes
This is the male Sphecid wasp. The tibias of the front legs are greatly expanded into the shields shown here. With these, he covers the female's eyes. The plates don't blind her but fliter light in such a way that she recognizes this is a male of her species.
