January 2021 - Plume Moth
|
Morning Glory Plume Moth, Emmelina monodactyla
Morning Glory Plume Moth, Emmelina monodactyla
The Plume Moth has a great perching position - almost like an airplane as it hides most of its wings making it appear very much not like a moth. There are red and grayish forms of this insect and since it is active in some mild areas in the winter, it seems like a fitting candidate for January's bug of the month.
