|
Tundra Swan, Cygnus columbianus
Tundra Swan, Cygnus columbianus, (juvenile)
As its name suggests, the Tundra Swan breeds on the tundra of North America. It winters on coastal waters. When flying and on water, the Tundra Swan keeps its neck straight. Adults are completely white, legs and feet are black and the bill is mostly black with a yellow spot at the base. Immature swans like this one, are gray-tinged with pink bills.
