November 2008 - Wood Sorrel

Wood Sorrel
Oxalis albicanss
There are over 800 species of Wood Sorrels (or Woodsorrels) around the world. They are characterised by the five petals of the flower and ten stamens. The flower colours vary from red to pink, white and yellow, like this month's splendid flower.

Sometimes called Hairy Wood Sorrel or Wild Oxalis (among other names) it's a native of California.
