February 2007 - Satin Flower

Satin Flower
Sisyrinchium douglasii
The Satin Flower is this month's flower chosen because it's one of the earliest spring flowers on the west coast. A member of the Iris family, it grows to about 30 cm tall in small clusters on moss-covered bluffs and in Garry Oak forests.
